I Had so Many Hurricane's During That Hurricane...

So the Hurricane weekend we woke up Saturday and I made up a nice big Steak and Egg breakfast. We had been planning to see a movie and relax but the movie theaters were closed. Bloomberg had shut down all the buses and subways at noon and all of a sudden it didn’t seem like we could do anything! So what does one do in a situation such as this? Well head to the bars of course- the one place that always stays open. We first hit up Bull’s Head and enjoyed a delicious $5 Hurricane special, then up to Stag’s Head and Irish Exit for more Hurricanes and lots of Hurricane music on the jukebox. Dinner consisted of Bon Chon and by the time we got home I was exhausted and slept right through most of the storm. We awoke on Sunday to check out the damage and luckily there wasn’t much.

We saw some trees down...

And the National Guard exiting to help out the rest of the state which was pretty cool.

And seriously I think someone just pushed this over. Lol!

But besides that nothing was too bad. My biggest trouble was finding a coffee place open and I had to walk all the way to the West Village to do that. (the line was out the door- New Yorkers are addicted to their coffee). By 4:00 PM even our neighborhood favorite Wildwood had reopened and we skipped our pizza dinner (After having pizza breakfast and lunch) for a Dirty Bird Sandwich. That night came the best news of all- No Work for me tomorrow! YAY!! You know what that means- fancy lunch time…
