It's Memorial Day Weekend- Get Outside!

Okay so it looks a little rainy but it's not like someone is going to cancel Memorial Day Weekend right? This isn't Googa Mooga for goodness sake! (slightly bitter still) Seriously this weekend is all about being outside and drinking some cold frosty beverages.   So here's a little list of some good outdoor options: MeatPacking District Brass Monkey-  This space gets a little crazy at night but during the day the rooftop bar is a pretty chill spot to grab some drinks and even have brunch with some friends.  Extra bonus you can walk the Highline before/after and get in a little weekend exercise. Brass Monkey West Village White Horse Tavern- This place is a NYC institution and I absolutely love it.  Nothing says summer to me more than sitting on their sidewalk drinking a nice Hefeweizen and doing a little people watching. White Horse Tavern Chelsea The Frying Pan- If your long weekend includes drinking buckets of Corona, doing shots ...

Happy Father's Day!

A big shout out to all of you Dad's out there- mine of course at the top of that shout out list! We're spending the day with Mr. T's folks and heading to dinner at the ever so awesome Minetta tavern. I can't wait to try out their steak again and see if it truly is better than Luger's.   Can't get a reservation at Minetta and need a place to take Dad? Why not the Frying Pan? It's supposed to be a beautiful day today so why not take your Dad somewhere to chill out and relax in the sun. Mr. T and I went again two Saturdays ago. Although the Grilled Chicken Cesar salad wasn't quite as good as I remember (the chicken needed a little more crispy char) the burger was still great and man I could eat those huge pieces of garlic in the fries all day!

Getting that Summer Time Itch Yet?

I sure am. And it started all last week when gorgeous weather prompted a trip to the Frying Pan. That's right- it's not fully open until May 1st but when the temperature hits 70 degrees they open the gate and it's time for drinking on the water. Look at this great summer spread. Since it's not fully open until May this is about all the food options you'll get right now. My awesome Cesar salad was unavailable, as well as some of the usual beer choices, but if your down for a bucket of Coronas and some classic grilling fare- why wait. Get on over and enjoy every second of the sun on the Hudson River.
