Brunch at Primehouse

Image
Primehouse is one of my go-to brunch places.  It's close to my apartment, they have plenty of outdoor seating and you get a free drink with your brunch entree.   This visit I tried out the Crab Cake Benedict. The Tomato Bearnaise sauce was excellent and my eggs were perfectly poached. Not to mention the insane amount of crab on each muffin. It was incredibly rich but I really enjoyed it. Talk about huge portions my friends Crab BLT was absolutely enormous! The Plain Old Breakfast Sandwich wasn't too small either with some nice slabs of crispy bacon on top.  We all left completely stuffed and certainly satisfied. Primehouse

Primehouse Brunch

I love going to brunch but getting Mr. T out of the house before nightfall is a challenge.   That being the case we usually do a brunch near our apartment and lately it’s been at Primehouse. The Wild Mushroom Omelette gets a nice salty kick from melted leeks and a creamy goat cheese.  While the “Plain Old Breakfast Sandwich” is absolutely enormous and much better than any old breakfast sandwich from the corner deli that’s for sure. The only thing that I didn’t enjoy were the Truffle Asiagao Fries.      The fries were crispy enough but the truffle oil gave them a fake, chemical taste.   Next time I’m skipping the fries and trying out the Duck Fat Hash Browns instead.   Mmmmmm duck fat… Primehouse NYC

Primehouse took over the old Park Avenue Country Club spot and even thought that place was pretty awful it held a special place in our hearts. Every year we would reserve a table for the start of March Madness and spend the whole day focused on basketball, beer drinking and gambling. It was awesome. So when the place got sold we were a little upset but it was about time to let bygones be bygones. It was a gorgeous sunny day and only two other tables were filled outside when we arrived so we had our pick of the lot. Much like the other BR Restaurant group brunch always begins with a free cocktail. Here the choices were more varied than usual- Mimosa, Bloody Mary, Bellini, Champagne, Screwdriver or Campari. I had a Bellini and noticed the brunch menu was more varied as well. There w...
