The Bakery at Lafayette
This hot new restaurant from Andrew Carmellini is already receiving rave reviews. I have yet to dine in the formal room because I'm still getting through all of the pastries up front. The bakery is like walking into the wonderful world of Willy Wonka! There are croissants of all shapes and sizes... ...sweet or savory you can have either wrapped inside flaky layers of dough. Continue the Wonka trip over to the macaron counter where you can virtually pick your favorite color from the rainbow... ...or for a more grown up treat some buttery pound cake dripping with strawberry jam. Eclairs...how about three different kinds... ...or maybe some caramelized canneles to enjoy with your tea... Whatever your craving this bakery is sure to have it. Take the trip and enjoy the ride.
